According to The Los Angeles Times, a thirty-three year old women was killed while four others were injured as a result of a chain reaction car crash. The crash appeared to be the result of two suspected drunk drivers on California State Route 78 in the Vista area on Sunday, August 5, 2018.
The deceased was headed west in a Toyota Corolla when she drove onto the dirt shoulder near Mar Vista Drive, reasons were unknown. The deceased driver then veered back onto the freeway where she crossed all of the freeway lanes and ended up crashing into the center divider where she was then hit by another vehicle causing her ejection from her vehicle. She died before she made it to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle also sustained injuries. Another vehicle was also involved in the crash; however, its passengers suffered only minor injuries. All of the surviving drivers appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
